Disappointed Overall Overall rating: Value rating : After spending 9 nights at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, we were extremely disappointed at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai. The rooms were old and dirty. We asked to be moved to a room that had properly functioning A/C and we had to wait till the next day. We were unable to sleep that night due to the noise from the A/C. The beach was terrible for swimming...good for surfing though...The beach was extremely rough and rocky....we enjoyed the calm waters in Maui. It felt like we were getting gouged for everything from the unnecessary resort fee of $18 for virtually 2 small bottles of water. They could have at least included internet access, rather than collecting $15/day. The grounds and the pool area were spectacular. We're not much of pool people but it was incredible.
