My husband and I would never stay at this property again or recommend it. Our premium ocean view was obstructed when sitting on our deck by dead plantings. I called Perfect Escapes and Dia was great - got the assistant mgr to call us with a $100 resort credit for our trouble. In retrospect this was not enough. They shouldn't have charged us for the kind of room we thought we were getting. We also considered moving to another hotel, but felt it would be too stressful. Landscape was rundown and unkempt, rooms were threadbare. Food was expensive for the quality. This was not the Hawaii we remember or what we saw at neighboring resorts. They need an overhaul. The hotel was ghost-like when we were there with not many people until the end of our stay - it felt odd. Everything felt very far away, disparate and not cozy or charming. The price of the room was too high for what it was, location aside. We were highly disappointed. We would choose the Fairmont or even Four Seasons next.
