Overview
The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables Florida is a national historic landmark resort featuring luxury accommodations and 76,000-sq.-ft. of meeting and function space. The hotel building speaks for itself, it is beautifully maintained, the staff is very eager to please, but not in your face. I would highly recommend the Biltmore. I stayed here two years ago for 4 days and that is why I came back this time.

Biiltmore

The amenities of the Biltmore, golf course, grounds, restaurants, reception rooms and food were excellent. The pool with poolside restaurant was heavenly. The room was lacking the excellence of the rest of the hotel amenities. The room had a musty smell. The sheets were damp and there was a small tear in the bottom sheet. Housekeeping gave us new sheets but did not change them for us. The elevator was very slow and we were on a floor that had only one elevator available.

Good Times

My stay at The Biltmore was great. Check-in was fast, the porter was helpful and they gave me a great overview of the hotel and the room. The grounds are beautiful, definitely better than any I've seen in the states. Nice pool scene too and the pool is as large, if not larger, than I expected. Will definitely stay again.

Relaxation in Beautiful Setting

It is difficult to find hotels like the Biltmore anymore- an architectural gem from the 1920's. We were served a glass of champagne upon arrival and taken to our lovely superior room with freestanding Armoire on the 5th floor - pool side view. The pool is beautiful- supposedly the largest in the US. A lovely serene environment during the week with great service, beautiful golf course, happy hour martinis at Cascade bar, and private cabanas. The weekend gets a little more busy with "member" families and locals coming in to use the pool and exercise facilities. We had a wonderful dinner at the fabulous French restaurant Palme d'Or with a great price during "Miami spice month" and delicious breakfast in the beautiful fountain courtyard of Fontana. The location of the hotel is excellent with easy access to Miami and S. Beach. We also walked through the beautiful residential area of Coral Gables to the shopping area of Miracle Mile(fun boutiques, wine shops, and restaurants).

Wheelchair User

The wheelchair accessibility in the ADA compliant room is not up to par, there are no grab bars or hand held shower head. The shower door can not be closed from within the shower stall. I spoke with Fidel, one of the hotel managers and he assured me that these problems, along with the non- functioning pool lift would be rectified.
It is an awesome hotel, but check if these issues have been resolved before you book your trip.

Poor Acustics Made Us Leave the Hotel After 2 Days

Poor room acustics caused us to be woken up by noise caused by TV, full conversations, telephone ringing and some inexplicable banging noise. As a result we checked out from this perfect escape after two days of our total 4 day stay and instead relocated to the Westin at the Collonade in Coral Gables.
At (early) check out no attempt was made to convince us that the Biltmore is actually one of the leading hotels of the world. With a certain sense of arrogance they simply let us check out and hoped that we would stay again one day at the Biltmore.
Our first impression was not a welcoming one. The concierge was rather unfriendly in providing information about tours ("Are you a guest at this hotel"?). The hotel seems to be not really sure if it wants to be a country club or a hotel as it tries to cater to both parties at the same time.
All in all , overpriced for what we got in return, especially if you consider the return on price that we received at the Westin in Coral Gables.

Our week long stay at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables Florida was very enjoyable. The hotel is so beautiful just like in the pictures on their website and the staff was so helpful and made us feel welcomed. They have very educated employees and overall we give this hotel 5 out of 5 stars. We ordered room service (it was very good), our suite was very gorgeous and clean. We felt very comfortable. We do recommend this hotel if you like peace and quiet and plus it's very romantic. We will be returning when we travel to Miami again.

The Biltmore Hotel was simply fantastic! An elegant hotel of a by-gone era in a lovely setting in Coral Gables. Attention to detail was obvious as the room was beautifully appointed and the staff's service was exceptional. The courtyard restaurant's ambiance was lovely and the food was superb! We have wonderful memories of our stay and will return again.
