Convenient location, accommodating staff. -Frank, from Fresh Meadows, United States - 10/8/2009
European Style Hotel
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
This is a small, older European-style hotel. I would not call it a luxury hotel. There is one small elevator for the entire hotel. Our room and bathroom were very tiny. On a positive note, the staff was very nice and helpful. The food was quite good. Not what I expected at all. -John Hyde , from Burnaby, Canada - 9/28/2009
Great Ambiance

The Sorrento is a lovely old hotel with charm that is unfortunately not matched with the staff's service. The Concierge was aloof and wishy washy about the limo service to downtown. None the less, the room was clean, comfortable and looked out onto the courtyard below. The Sorrento is within walking distance of shops, the Convention Center and St. James Cathedral. We grew up in Seattle and the memories of many dinner dates at the Hunt Club and Christmas and New Year celebrations around the fireplace still positively influence our perceptions of the Sorrento. If you appreciate the character of a beautiful old hotel, and don't mind fending for yourself, the Sorrento will be a delightful place to stay. -Mary Gibson , from wenatchee, United States - 8/28/2009
Elegant and Innovative
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The hotel itself is a historical piece. The woodwork of yesteryears is combined with modern updates in technology and fixtures. The service is second to none with extremely courteous and helpful staff. We enjoy walking, so the short distance to the center of town (15 min) was not a problem. Parking for guests should be at no cost to hotel guests. While we were there, the Friday block party had a traveling "School of Rock" group of students entertaining us. A great show and a great new idea for such a charismatic old hotel made our stay that much more enjoyable. -Terry, from Edmonton, Canada - 8/20/2009

The hotel concierge was very accommodating and provided us with the benefits we were entitled to. Once again, the Sorrento and the staff were wonderful. -Hector Roche , from Portland, United States - 7/23/2009
Surrender to Sorrento
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
This 100+ years hotel has great atmosphere, without appearing overly polished, and a great crew to complement it. The omnipresent staff provides real comfort and really takes care. The hotel seems well managed. Some rooms are a little bit gloomy and smallish, but if you spend the extra buck, living in the Sorrento is grand. As a sign of its status: it is the regular hub for Seattle hotel industry drinks (of the decent kind). -Koen, from Amsterdam, Netherlands - 5/27/2009
Very Enjoyable
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The Sorrento is a Grand Dame of a hotel. Our room was well appointed. The bell man was exceptional. The front desk staff while charming were young and obviously new to their positions. Before retiring for the evening I inquired about our "free champagne or wine" as per our package. A blank look. I don't mean to be hypercritical but the "selling point" of this hotel's package was breakfast and champagne or wine. The only drawback is that the hotel is high on a hill and quite a distance away from anything. It's an easy walk downhill but not coming back. I would definitely recommend the Sorrento for anyone who would like a taste of old world elegance. -James Beck , from Waterbury, United States - 10/6/2008
Nothing Special
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We were given the room upgrade supposedly, but since we booked a suite initially, not sure. The room had a very weird odor. Every time I tried to call the front desk the line was busy. I also asked to have our car ready very early the next day. Once again, in the morning the valet and front desk did not answer. We had a very early flight to catch and it took at least 15 minutes for them to bring the car. Also, the location is too far to walk to any restaurants. Supposedly, there is a courtesy service, but that was not available. There is only one elevator, and that can also be slow. The bed was comfortable and had nice linens. -Ellen, from Chicago, United States - 9/11/2008
A Jewel of a Hotel in Seattle
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
My husband and I stayed here for one night on our return from a vacation in British Columbia. Everything was exactly as promised, including room upgrade and complimentary wine. The courtesy car was a nice feature which we used to go to dinner. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is a little out of the downtown, but still convenient. We walked to the Pike Market in about 20 minutes. This hotel is a little jewel and we would stay here again without hesitation. -Ellen Grebstein , from Kingston, United States - 9/10/2008
First Class
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
This hotel was first class from the hotel staff to the rooms. Very comfortable beds. The only problem was we like to sleep with the window open and the bar down below our room was noisy until people left after 2. -Robert, from Brea, United States - 8/26/2008
The Sorrento
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
It was a beautiful hotel and the bed was out of this world. we also received complimentary wine, cheese, fruit and crackers that were wonderful.
we had two rooms rented. My friends also received a Sorento canvas bag that I wish we had gotten, but I realized she had it when we were in the airport, I would come and stay again. Also breakfast was fantastic the next morning!! I also enjoyed the taxi that took us from the hotel to Pikes Pier for the day. -Patricia Valdez , from denver, United States - 8/8/2008

If you’re looking for a unique romantic getaway, this is one option to consider. A classical hotel with a long history and warm surroundings to make your stay a memorable one. Great service, food and definitely check out the bar! The cocktails are literally picture perfect... -Nick, from North Vancouver, Canada - 7/12/2008
Hotel Package

Bought a package deal and had to keep asking the hotel management to get the included items. Otherwise the hotel was very nice, but they should have better customer service for this price. -Naomi Nakata , from Rancho Palos Verdes, United States - 6/16/2008
100 Year Old Hotel
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Very nice hotel, over 100 years old but maintained very well, this is history. It is a little bit of a trip to downtown but bus service is close, the hotel offers a car service for downtown drop off, just tip the guy, I gave ten dollars for the ride. Everyone at the hotel was nice, dining/bar room was great and the food was tasty. The hotel has a exercise room which kept me busy and was a good form of work-out options, the hotel also has a computer room for the guests at no charge. The rooms were of good size and the bathroom was all updated, everything was very clean. I slept great, the bed was really comfortable. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Seattle, I heard the hotel's company car would pick you up at the airport and take you to the hotel for a small fee, this would of been nicer than the cab ride at $38.00. Next time I'll call the hotel first to have a car sent if this service is offered. Otherwise the service and stay here was the B -David Brunette , from Chula vista, United States - 6/8/2008
