Very Nice Hotel
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I stayed at the Sofitel for 4 nights in November. It is very nice hotel, right in the center of Chicago. The restaurant is excellent, service is good. There are a variety of smaller things that were missing: I had a thankless room right next to the service area + elevator. Not sure this is room is reserved for bookings other than with the hotel directly? The room was kind of small; the bathtub useless because it is so shallow; the lighting is poor: if you don't want it to be totally dark, you will have to suffer with lights that are bright as can be. Overall, the decor could use updating from its current beige tones. -Reinhold Gras , from San Francisco, United States - 11/13/2009
Fantastic

Generally, I am not shy about sharing any unpleasant experiences as I feel it is a service to save others from suffering avoidable "slings and arrows". That being said, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. We were upgraded for our first night (only 1 night due to availability) and received only professional and pleasant service from staff. Did not eat at the hotel or avail ourselves of amenities but location was convenient and hotel was immaculate. -Jeffrey Brezil , from New York, United States - 11/12/2009
Weekend at The Sofitel Near Rush Street, Chicago

Good value, a little higher in price for a weekend stay vs. the competitive 4 stars nearby. -George Garrett, from Nashville, United States - 11/12/2009
Great City- Matching Hotel

Accor chain is predictably good wherever I've stayed. This particular Sofitel is my wife's choice in Chicago. Her high opinion was not disappointing. Great location, terrific room and excellent staff, room service and restaurant. -John Brottem , from OLYMPIA, United States - 10/15/2009
Excellent Hotel

The rooms were beautiful and quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous. The food was delicious and the gym was a decent size with plenty of cardio machines, free weights and a few weight machines. -Maria Cole , from Brooklyn, United States - 9/29/2009
Great Stay, Exceptional Service
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The hotel is very nicely decorated, and has nice amenities. The gym was surprisingly nice, though a little tight. The service stood out the most in terms of how many employees say hi, ask if they can help you, and generally assume responsibility for your well-being. At the rate we got, it was an exceptional value. Also nicely situated with a short walk to Michigan Avenue, a Starbucks a block away, and if you've got the cash, a Bentley dealership down the street. :) Only downside is that the bed mattresses are exceptionally soft, to the point where my back stiffened up after the first night (I have regular back issues). -David Frick , from Raleigh, United States - 9/17/2009

A Worthwhile Destination

Modern, convenient location, spacious bathroom, Wi-Fi in room daily fee, business center available, parking next door is expensive, on site restaurant very pricey, plenty of restaurants within 1-2 blocks, workout area adequate but nothing fancy(no steam or sauna). -John, from newton center, United States - 9/3/2009

Great Stay, Great Vacation

My daughter is leaving for college this year so we decided to take a mother, daughter vacation to Chicago. This was an excellent hotel for this type of vacation. Great location for shopping and seeing the sights of Chicago. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or more helpful. I can't wait to stay here again. -Cathy Ward , from Kearney, United States - 8/21/2009

Our stay at the Sofitel was excellent. We got a room on the top floor with a view of the Hancock Building and the Lake. Couldn't have asked for more. Close to everything. -Benjamin Katz , from Ft Lauderdale, United States - 7/14/2009

It was Okay, but nothing special. The rooms were so tiny! We reserved a king room and a king suite but when we tried to check in the suite was not ready. I know we had an early check-in time which was noon, but we didn't even check in until after 3:00!
So we just took the king room and it was way too small. -Laurie Harkrader , from Middletown, United States - 5/7/2009
