Overview
Renowned for its natural hot springs that discriminating travelers have enjoyed since the 18th century, The Homestead resort nestles amid 15,000 acres in the Allegheny Mountains of Virginia. The famed Georgian-style, red-brick hotel offers 483 luxurious guest rooms including 87 suites -- many of which feature sun porches and wood burning fireplaces. Each room is elegantly appointed, blending rich historical ambience with modern conveniences.
The resort features several dining and entertainment options, as well as recreational activities. Spend your days on one of three championship golf courses, or at the full European-style spa. Other options include skiing and skating, horseback and carriage rides, six tennis courts, a 4-mile trout stream, 100 miles of hiking and biking trails, falconry, shooting club, kids club, and golf school.

I was very impressed with the attentive and thoughtful service we received while saying at The Homestead. We also were delighted to be able to participate in falconry at the resort. -Gayle, from Randallstown, United States - 8/18/2009
Beautiful and Comfortable
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The Homestead is a beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms and gorgeous grounds. We enjoyed falconry and golf. There are a lot of activities for adults and children. The drawback is they can be expensive. The 1766 Grill was closed when we were there, and the other restaurants were booked for dinner, so we had to eat in Warm Springs. The staff was very friendly and helpful, with a couple of exceptions in the dining room at breakfast. -Diane Avery, from Macedonia , United States - 8/18/2009
Fresh Mountain Air

The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Our room was not large, but very clean and adequate. There are very few choices for food away from the resort...the resort was very pricey for food and spa treatments. We had the B&B package. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, very fresh and many choices. All activities are extra and some very expensive, this is not a budget getaway. Very nice golf courses. -Jeffrey, from Richmond, United States - 7/21/2009
A Wintry Escape

We got engaged on Valentine's Day. We drove to The Homestead the following weekend for some much needed R&R. As the snow began to fall heavier and faster, we wound our way up the road until we could see The Homestead. As the snow blanketed the sidewalk, we checked into our beautiful, cozy room. We took advantage of the restaurants, room service, the spa (oh, the spa!) and walked back from the ski area after a hot buttered rum. The people were friendly, the charm was old-school and the overall experience was restful and tasteful. Better specials (rates) would be a deciding factor for whether we return or not. Worth the trip, if you're staying longer than one night. -Martha, from Arlington, VA, United States - 10/4/2007
