Overview
Tucked away within the frenetic city that surrounds it, this luxury boutique hotel and spa evokes a vibe that isn’t about seeing and being seen—only about living in the moment. At the Dana Hotel & Spa, giving is our pleasure, and it’s this fundamental, yet profound principle that we practice daily.
The sleek exterior facade designed by Chicago’s Eckenhoff Saunders Architects features a stunning 28 foot high Clear glass curtain wall offering passersby views of the goings-on inside the Dana. The striking ground floor entrance is anchored by an undulating timber wall providing a soothing backdrop for a two-story fireplace and Dana’s two primary dining offerings: ajasteak a contemporary Asian steak house and sake lounge and the Dana’s signature floating sushi bar.

Fashionable Modern Hotel

We recently spent one night in a Tranquility suite at the Dana and really enjoyed our stay. The modern styling was well done (as long as you don't mind exposed concrete ceilings), the service friendly, and the room spacious and very well appointed. We paid for valet parking, but noticed cheaper parking across the street when we left. -Mike, from Wheaton, United States - 11/17/2009

Fantastic room, delicious breakfast, friendly service!!! Very convenient to go everywhere. 7-11 & supermarket just walk a few minutes! Walk to the Michigan Avenue in 5 minutes!!!! Wonderful place to stay!! -Fang Chi, from Taipei, Taiwan - 10/21/2009
Anniversary Stay

Other than the fact that our car was broken into and the valet man was stabbed, it was a wonderful stay for the 3 hrs we slept.
The staff was very helpful and although the glass repair person never showed which was quite cumbersome to drive the next 100 highway miles with no window, we were glad all were safe. The parking lot owner has been cooperative. My one complaint is the breakfast staff stood 3 feet from my table - all 5 of them watching us eat. I think if you aren't busy 3 of the 5 of you should be working behind the bar or behind the kitchen door.
Other than that all was fine... -Kristin, from Whitefish Bay, United States - 9/15/2009
An Energetic, Upbeat Hotel
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Dana Hotel & Spa is an upscale, upbeat, metro, extremely energetic hotel. The room was very nice and very clean. However, the hall and street are extremely noisy. I did find it rather odd that the ceiling was unfinished, I believe by design. I feel this hotel is targeted more at the younger generation, 20-30 year olds. -Eric, from Rensselaer, United States - 8/20/2009
Great Stay

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for my parents, but I stayed in two hotels during my first stay in Chicago, and this was by far better. It was hip, but not pretentious. The staff was helpful and they had full size bottles of wine in the mini-bar and pretty glasses - it was a great stay. -Erin Jacob , from Newport, United States - 5/12/2009

Trendy Hotel

I stayed at this property for my birthday weekend. I'm from Chicago but I wanted to be in the heart of downtown in order to be in close proximity to all the activities I had planned. This hotel was in the perfect location. It is super close to shopping, dining, and a variety of nightlife options. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. My room was beautiful. I especially loved the bathroom which was spacious (large enough for three girls to get ready simultaneously) and aesthetically pleasing (marble and exotic tile everywhere). My only complaints is that outside of the bathroom the room didn't have enough lighting. During the day the sunlight did the trick via the floor to ceiling windows but at night the room was quite dim. Also my balcony doors did not lock. I reported this but the engineer was unable to rectify this. I wasn't terribly concerned but at this type of establishment one should be able to lock their doors! But overall had a great time would stay again. -Crystal, from Chicago , United States - 4/13/2009
