Disappointing

The bath linens were very scratchy to the touch. No fluff left to them. Some were stained. The bath linens did not match up to a luxury hotel. Very disappointing! -Barbara Noble , from Naperville, United States - 7/20/2009

Nothing but Class

My wife and I came here to celebrate our 35th anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better place in the Chicago area. From the beautiful room appointments (like canopied bed and gas fireplace), to the stately decor, everything was quality. After relaxing in the deep-soak whirlpool tub (big enough for two), we donned our robes and slippers, and enjoyed the evening air on our private balcony, overhanging the Fox River. From there, we could watch the ducks and other waterbirds float along with the current, or on the small island in the middle of the river. Next morning, we enjoyed the light breakfast buffet. The Herrington is everything a romantic getaway should be. It has amenities similar to those of other "romance" properties, like Sybaris, but without the tawdry ambiance. It's also nicer than going to downtown Chicago hotels, which tend to be more "businessperson". Highly-recommended. (And the town of Geneva is a good place to wander, shop, and eat.) -Lester, from Homewood, IL, United States - 9/13/2008
