Lovely hotel with large rooms and comfortable beds in a perfect location to walk Alexandria, VA. Note this hotel also caters to dogs and their owners and has pet packages.

Okay but Could Have Been More

The staff is friendly and accommodating but rooms are small and we had difficulties with our keys. We were locked out of our room several times because they didn't activate our cards which made our evening interesting. We had to involve maintenance and two staff members to finally get it straightened out. Pool is only open in the evening which made access for most adults very difficult. Good location but would get more for your money staying elsewhere.

Outstanding welcome. Heater in room broke, but they responded by giving my wife a pot of tea in lobby while fixing it. I needed to change a $20 bill, and an employee did it from her own purse when cash otherwise not available. Our fish died and they replaced it--the whimsy of the companion fish is just fun and brilliant! We are already booked for a return visit--and have referred others. Extra effort makes all of the difference!

Take Interstate 395 SOUTH to the exit for Route 1 SOUTH.
Follow Route 1 approximately 4 to 5 miles into Old Town Alexandria.
Turn LEFT onto King Street.

Directions from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA):
Located about five miles from our hotel, Reagan National Airport provides easy access to Washington DC. Depending on traffic and time of day, travel time is about 10-15 minutes. Complimentary shuttle service to and from our hotel to Reagan National Airport.
Take Route 1 SOUTH out of the airport, approximately 3 miles, into Old Town Alexandria.
Turn LEFT onto King Street.
Hotel Monaco Alexandria is on the right side of the street at 480 King Street.
Directions from Dulles International Airport (IAD):
Dulles International Airport is located about 35 miles from our hotel. Depending on traffic and time of day, travel time is about 45-60 minutes.
Take the Dulles Toll Road EAST to the Capital Beltway (Interstate 495).
Go SOUTH on Interstate 495 to Exit 177, Alexandria Rouge 1.
Take Route 1 NORTH approximately 1 mile to King Street.
Turn RIGHT onto King Street.
Hotel Monaco Alexandria is on the right side of the street at 480 King Street.
