Overview
The Westin Excelsior, Rome, the “magnificent white palace on Via Veneto”, is one of the world's great classic hotels. Unique and unforgettable, it is located on the most well-known street of the capital, the famous Via Veneto, one of the most celebrated meeting places of Europe.
The 319 guestrooms are decorated in 19th century Empire style with ornate white and gold ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and hand decorated walls. Many rooms have balconies, and all include Heavenly Beds.
On the premises are two restaurants, La Cupola, serving rich Mediterranean cuisine and Italian specialties, and Gran Caffe Doney, a sidewalk cafe serving light food and snacks on the Via Veneto. The Bar Excelsior features live piano music every evening.
The Excelsior establishes a link between a sparkling past and a dynamic present, facing the street that was the cradle of the shining “Dolce Vita”.

A Little Disappointed

I expected much more. My room was small and extremely noisy. There was loud construction noise every morning right outside my window. I complained to concierge who assured me it would not continue. But the next day it started all over again. Housekeeping staff was very loud and started work around 7 a.m. My room was supposed to come with complementary robe but did not. No room service menu or maps/literature about Rome. Hotel staff were inattentive and indifferent. Wait staff at breakfast seemed annoyed with everything. Hotel lobby was a little dreary. I would probably not stay there again.
