Overview
Dublin's premier boutique hotel located in the heart of the city on the famous River Liffey. Owned by Bono & The Edge of Irish rock group U2, The Clarence is very much a reflection of 21st century Ireland. Simple but elegant, timeless but yet of its time, contemporary but embodies the best of Irish hospitality.
Each room and suite has been individually designed to provide accommodation that is simple, elegant and refined. Twin rooms are available but the majority of rooms have super king-size double beds.
No two rooms or suites are alike and are decorated in one of the hotel's five signature colours: crimson, royal blue, amethyst, gold and chocolate. Shaker-style furniture, specially crafted beds with Egyptian linens and spacious white tiled bathrooms with pedestal sinks and oak cabinets.
Guests can choose from a variety of dining options: The Tea Room Restaurant serves a range of traditional Irish dishes with a continental influence in a chic, contemporary setting; The Study, which retains many of the room's original features, serves international dishes and drinks 24-hour a day, and the Octagon Bar, serves lunch, dinner, drinks and cocktails underneath an Octagonal-shaped dome.

Superb Service and Lovely Room

I booked this hotel as a gift for my parents' ruby wedding anniversary and from the moment they arrived they had the five star treatment. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special stay or treat as it is not cheap but well worth the price. My parents have stayed in some nice hotels around the world but said the service here was superb. They also commented that the breakfast was very good.

The Hotel was not up to 5* standard. The room was basic, the restaurant service was rubbish, the food was poor- not hot, over cooked, over dressed with sauce, and much too pricey for what it was. Disappointing really, was expecting so much more.
