Overview

The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation is located 75 miles east of Atlanta, on 19,000 square acre Lake Oconee. On property canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats and mountain bikes for the adventurous. Full Ritz-Carlton Spa and year round Ritz Kids program as well as 99 holes of championship golf. Not Worth the Price

The Ritz was great, don't get me wrong, but just not worth the prices they charge. We had a great deal through Perfect Escapes but felt like we got the lowest level room location. Walls were paper thin; had to call at midnight to complain about couple next door fighting...could hear entire 30 minute fight through the wall. Food was good but very, very pricey. Breakfast at George's was good but $5 for a glass of OJ is ridiculous. Overall, felt like place wasn't as polished and maintained as expected. Stayed at resorts in Mexico that are much cheaper and much better maintained. On good side, infinity pool and that area is beautiful and service there and at Gaby's by the Lake were both good. Glad we went because I'd always wanted to go, but doubtful we'll be back again.

Extras

Very nice hotel, but beware of the extras. Anything that you want to do will cost extra. That can be expected, but mandatory gratuity on top of tax does go a bit far. Spa was enjoyable, but again the price of the spa package had extras that one had to pay. They would indicate everything is included and mark down their own gratuity, they said don't worry it is all included. It wasn't. The spa treatments were short for the overall price. Then the gratuity was high, so you end up paying a lot more than the package is really worth. Don't go to the spa otherwise- very expensive.

It's Like Heaven

This was our second time at the Lake Oconee Ritz and we loved it. The staff is so nice. The rooms are clean.
The pool is amazing. You do pay more at a Ritz, but it is worth every cent. It is also kid friendly.

We Enjoyed Our Stay

Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation was very enjoyable. We did a quick week day getaway while our daughter was away. The hotel does live up to the Ritz-Carlton name. It is a very beautiful property located on Lake Oconee. The hotel would probably be favored by golfers since there is a golf course next to the property. I am not a golfer, but I still enjoyed our stay. We dined in the Georgia Grill and found the food to be excellent. After dinner we toasted marshmallows and sipped hot cider by the outside fire. The staff was friendly and provided good service. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will likely be back (perhaps in the fall for our anniversary).

This was truly an unexpected treat. I had not even heard of the location and was quite surprised. We have already decided that we are going back for a longer length of time. I think that we are going to call it one of our hidden retreats.

The hotel is very nice, but the customer service was not nearly as good as we have experienced at less expensive hotels. We enjoyed our visit, but did not feel that we received four star treatment.
